FAQ
How large of a rocket can I use a parachute of a particular size in?
Refer to the parachute sizing information.
Why are the parachutes so expensive?
Parachutes (especially hemispherical) are a lot of work to make. First the gores must be cut out and sewn together (hemispherical has 12, mushroom has 4). After that, the edges of the parachute are surged. The gores are sewn in such a way that they form tunnels in between them for the suspension lines. The suspension lines must then be cut to length, ends burned, ran through the tunnels, and finally sewn into place.
